It was a stopover flight at Chengdu, Sichuan’s capital city. I had to kill a few hours and I decided to explore a nearby local suburb to see a typical day in Sichuan. One of the things I saw was a kindergarten called the “Stanford International Kindergarten”. At that time, child care centres, nurseries, kindergartens etc were the new booming businesses in China. I think this kindergarten in this middle class area just wanted to differentiate itself from the competition. No relationship with the Stanford University in US.
