A cafe’s side window overlooking a street has been converted into a takeaway counter by simply adding two steps. Of course there are other things to consider. Is it legal? Is it safe for the customers? What modifications do you have to make in the kitchen to support a take away counter? Etc. But the point I am trying to make is that I have always seen the Chinese finding simple but effective solutions to many problems. For many international companies, lean thinking is a concept that has to be learned in a training room. For the Chinese, they were simply born this way.
