One of the things I have witnessed while being in major cities like Shanghai, Beijing and Shenyang for ten years is that the Chinese do regularly undertake mega building projects. The size and scale of which is totally unimaginable in Singapore or Australia. I am not even sure if anyone can bankroll such massive building projects in the world anymore with the exception of oil-rich cities like Dubai. I was standing in a high floor in Shangri-La Hotel one day looking outside and saw that they are building something massive here. It looked like a row of apartments at the edge with a mega shopping complex coming up in the centre.
