Three reasons why roadside market stalls need to go

Sep 2014. Anshan

This is in Anshan, Liaoning Province. But you can see it practically everywhere in China: makeshift market stalls by the roadside selling fresh produce and meat. Its dangerous for passersby to patronize these stalls as this poses a road safety issue, especially if there are children and elderly people around. Exhaust fumes and the dust pollutes the vegetables and meat. Also these vendors do not have a license and if there is a food poisoning issue, it would be difficult to trace the source. But still this is a everyday sight in China unfortunately. I think this is definitely an area that the local government should do more to help the vendors and the public.
